Job Title: Executive Chef Job Summary: The Executive Chef at Teca WEST CHESTER, an esteemed Italian restaurant specializing in a la carte dining and private events, is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the culinary operations of the establishment. This role demands a seasoned culinary professional with a passion for Italian cuisine, creative flair, and exceptional management skills. The Executive Chef will play a pivotal role in maintaining high standards of food quality, menu innovation, and overall kitchen efficiency. Responsibilities: Culinary Leadership: Lead and inspire the kitchen team to ensure a cohesive and high-performing culinary department. Develop and execute creative, high-quality Italian-inspired menus for a la carte dining and private events. Ensure consistency and excellence in food preparation, presentation, and taste. Menu Development: Regularly review and update menus to reflect seasonal ingredients, culinary trends, and customer preferences. Collaborate with the management team to create special menus for private events and catering services. Kitchen Operations: Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating. Implement and enforce hygiene and safety standards in compliance with local health regulations. Manage inventory, control costs, and minimize waste to maintain financial targets. Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify opportunities for professional development. Quality Control: Conduct regular tastings and quality assessments to maintain the highest standards of food quality and presentation. Address customer feedback and collaborate with front-of-house staff to enhance the overall dining experience. Event Coordination: Collaborate with event planners and management to create customized menus for private events. Ensure seamless execution of catering services, maintaining quality and timeliness. Budget Management: Work closely with the management team to establish and manage kitchen budgets, including food and labor costs. Implement cost-effective measures without compromising on quality. Qualifications: Proven experience as an Executive Chef in a high-volume, upscale Italian restaurant. Culinary degree or equivalent certification. Strong knowledge of Italian cuisine, culinary techniques, and food trends. Exceptional leadership and communication skills. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Experience in menu development, costing, and inventory management.
